Everyone knows at least one recipe for a great dish, but they don't bother writing it down. If you don't want to forget how to make that excellent soup or casserole, you can use Cookbook to store all your recipes. It's a simple piece of software, with a straightforward functionality, so you won't complicate your life in any way. Just write down your recipes and access them whenever you feel like making that special dish.

Cookbook is offered as a freeware application, and it works on all modern Windows systems, as well as older ones. The installation process doesn't take more than a minute, and there is no need to install any prerequisite tools or services, so you can start using the application in no time.

The software acts as a database in which you can store your recipes. All you have to do is click a button to create a new entry and start typing. Of course, there are a few features you may want to look at before saving your recipes. For example, Cookbook lets you organize your recipes in different categories, like Main Course, Dessert, Appetiser and so on. You can also add your own categories if you want to.

Recipe categories can be selected in a drop-down menu, on the left side of the interface, to filter the database and display only a certain recipe type. Additionally, the software lets you rate individual entries, specify the serving number, difficulty and cooking time, and you can also mark recipes according to their difficulties. What's more, you can assign an entry to multiple categories, so you can also use them as tags.

Cookbook serves as an excellent digital notebook in which you can find all your special recipes quickly and easily.

Pros

You can write down your recipes and sort them in various categories. The software's controls are easy to spot, and they don't present a challenge.

Cons

Some users may consider Cookbook to be too basic.
